Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

_


  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience in a field related to electric utility line or power plant construction and maintenance.
OR

  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in construction or maintenance activities, including three (3) years of which were in the planning, coordination, and scheduling of utility construction projects.

_For Austin Water:
_


  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus 3 years of experience in coordination and scheduling of utility infrastructure projects.
  • Education may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.

Position Overview:


  • Austin Water is seeking a Scheduler Analyst for Collection System Services. This position will be responsible for a variety of field tasks including but not limited to; coordinating special projects and scheduling operations and maintenance activities for the wastewater collection system. Compiling data, preparing reports and communicating with internal and external customers.

Travel:


If you are selected for this position, and meet the
Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin
Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties.

Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Pay Range

    Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience:


  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, such as Maximo or Hanson/IPS8 and line televising software, such as Granite.
  • Experience preparing and developing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing large quantities of data.
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities and tasks in a fastpaced work environment.
  • Experience working for a utility, government, or similarly regulated entity.
  • Experience in planning projects by determining crew size and composition, work hour requirements, and equipment requirements.
  • Ability to communicate project and/or program information to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel to work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and schedules field construction and maintenance projects. Coordinates and reviews construction
- or engineering-related contracts and contract documents.

  • Measures work performances against engineering work standards to develop, maintain, and improve City of Austin design and construction standards.
  • Tracks status of projects, and reports to management.
