About GRO Community:
God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up.
Purpose of Position:
As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you will provide direct service that assists clients with their needs that pertain to everyday life issues, complications, and problems, including incidents of neglect, abuse, or domestic violence, or with mental health, and trauma informed challenges.
BHCs will assist with diagnoses and work with specific populations, including children and men, within the black and brown communities.
As a BHC you will collaborate with clients to assess their goals and adjust them as needed.When appropriate, the BHC may also offer to support clients by indicating the need for outside referrals from other support groups or mental health professionals.
You will be responsible for working with clients to craft a plan with coping strategies that address their health or well-being.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for completing behavioral health assessments within contract requirements
Conducts virtual assessments to determine an individual?s needs for services and supports, eligibility, level of care, and appropriate diagnosis
Perform all job duties in compliance with Person First standards, HIPAA guidelines, and company confidentiality policies and procedures.
Preferred knowledge may include community support programs, long-term care assessment, and level of care in medical, behavioral health, or related programs
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of medical and/or behavioral health diagnoses and prescribed medications
Regularly collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Work to meet timelines in a fast-paced independent environment
Responsible for completing behavioral health assessments and Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS) assessments within organization requirements.
Must be able to meet in person for quarterly all-staff meetings, monthly supervision with the Chief Clinical Officer or the Clinical Supervisor, and monthly BHC team meetings (for training and professional development)

Work Environment:
hybrid schedule | 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
Location:
Chicago, IL (location based on the assigned supervisor?s home site location)
Expected Hours of Work:
Monday-Friday/40 hours per week
Travel:
Must have access to reliable transportation to GRO Community and community sites
Qualifications:
Required Education and Certifications:
Minimum education of Bachelor?s degree in mental health, social work, nursing, human services, psychology, public health, or related field required
Master?s degree preferred.
IM+CANS Certification is required at the time of hire, or within one month of the Human Resources onboarding date
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years? experience in a similar role
Previous experience with biopsychosocial assessments
Social services work experience required/preferred
