As a Grounds Keeper at Service Corporation International (SCI), your job description would primarily involve tasks related to the maintenance and care of the cemetery grounds.


Some of the key responsibilities may include:

Lawn maintenance:

You may be responsible for mowing, edging, fertilizing, and irrigating cemetery lawns, ensuring that they are healthy and well-manicured.


Tree and shrub care:

This may involve pruning, shaping, and removing trees and shrubs as needed to maintain the beauty and safety of the cemetery grounds.


Planting and landscaping:

You may be responsible for planting flowers, shrubs, and other plants, as well as designing and maintaining cemetery landscaping features.


Irrigation system maintenance:

You may be responsible for maintaining and repairing irrigation systems to ensure that plants and lawns receive adequate water.


Cemetery equipment maintenance:

You may be responsible for maintaining and repairing cemetery equipment such as mowers, tractors, and other grounds maintenance equipment.


Safety and compliance:

You will be expected to comply with all safety and environmental regulations, and ensure that the cemetery grounds are safe for visitors and employees.


Overall, as a Grounds Specialist at SCI, your role would be to ensure that the cemetery grounds are well-maintained and provide a peaceful and beautiful setting for visitors paying their respects to loved ones.


Job Types:
Full-time, Contract


Pay:
Up to $15.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:


  • Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Houston, TX required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Houston, TX 77023: Relocate before starting work (required)
