    Job Description:
  • The Sales Account Manager will drive profitable growth and market share at Key OEM Accounts through the development and implementation of customer specific strategies. The incumbent will have direct responsibility for local sites of designated accounts and if applicable, regional responsibility for the implementation of strategies in their assigned center of influence.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support and manage project bid activity at designated accounts and pre and post order execution. Will manage activities aimed at strengthening our relationships and driving higher market share at assigned accounts across the JC product range.
  • Manage assigned sales activities expenses within approved budget.
  • Ensure all formal agreements with assigned Accounts follow the agreed approval process for the customer and John Crane.
  • Manage the involvement of sales, marketing, engineering, departments, and lines of business to ensure optimum solution is delivered.
  • Will secure sales contracts within budgeted pricing guidelines and meet company standards for margins.
  • Manage assigned key accounts, research and resolve service issues with clients and all required sales reporting for assigned area such as aggregate and site/region specific forecasts, actual sales results, variance analysis and mitigation plans to eliminate negative variances.
  • Provide weekly/monthly/90day sales forecasts and explain variances to forecasts. Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify new clients and opportunities for growth. Will consistently update industry, product, competitor, and market knowledge and provide information to appropriate personnel. In addition, will upsell and expand revenue with existing clients.

The Individual

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's in mechanical engineering highly preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical seals or rotating equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to sell and collaborate. Effective communication skills, selfstarter and highly motivated to achieve results with mínimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to develop presentations for current and future customers and present in a professional manner. Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office suite and ERP systems.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and the ability to solve complex practical problems.
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives and reassign priorities; and the ability to handle a wide variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
