Summary:


Join our Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) to help make shipboard life and habitability safe for our sailors For over a century, HII has built and maintained the U.S.

Acting as the Ships Coordinator this position is responsible for planning, preparing and maintenance scheduling for day-to-day work onboard U.S Navy Aircraft Carrier's HM&E engineering systems.


  • Must have a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Badge or Common Access Card(CAC) to start.

What You Will Do:


  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

What You Must Have:


  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Must have experience working in a shipyard environment.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with both management and the Team in the day to day operations of the project.

Preferred:

Bonus Points For:


  • Strong communication skills and experience with planning and network scheduling techniques is preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other software with experience with Naval shipbuilding and maintenance processes and procedures are preferred.
  • Experience with Navy's Maintenance, Material, Management (3M) supply system a plus.
  • Working familiarity and general knowledge of quality assurance program practices and principles.
  • Prior experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings.

Physical Requirements:


  • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
