We are currently seeking a Social Media Editor (m/f/d) for our locations in Mainz or Berlin, starting as soon as possible, in full-time or part-time and initially on a fixed-term contract for two years.


Your Responsibilities:


As the Editor-in-Chief, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and approval of concepts and products for various social media channels (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook).

In addition, you will also have the following tasks:


  • Identification of relevant topics and idea generation for format development and enhancement for various social media channels
  • Consultation with the client ZDF regarding planning and strategy
  • Optimization of channel reach
  • Team and budget planning
  • Responsibility for special projects
  • Close collaboration with designers and editors
  • Project contact person internally and externally

Your Profile:

In addition to journalistic experience and several years of editorial experience, you should also have:

  • Experience in approving editorial content
  • Indepth knowledge of social media platforms and trends
  • Knowledge of media usage among target groups
  • Strong interest in internet trends and social media performance
  • Experience using analytic tools and creating reviews
  • Creativity, journalistic quality standards, and compelling storytelling
  • Understanding and great interest in current political and social topics
  • Experience in leading teams and projects
  • Openminded, communicative personality with assertiveness and team spirit
  • Teamwork, resilience, diplomatic approach, and solutionoriented thinking
