Located in the heart of the Cologne-Bonn Rhine Valley, with good connections to the major cities of Cologne and Bonn, the city of Niederkassel offers motivated individuals the opportunity to contribute to our city and its citizens.


Starting on August 1, 2023, the Department 5 (Youth) is seeking several positions within the framework of the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) or the Federal Voluntary Service (BFD) (m/f/d).

(A division of the position into two part-time positions is possible in principle.)

We are looking for applicants who are interested in engaging in the common good. The aim is to promote the civic engagement of women and men of all generations.


This service offers young volunteers the opportunity to acquire skills and competencies, increasing their chances of entering a regulated professional life.

Older volunteers are encouraged to contribute and pass on their existing skills and life and professional experiences. If you are already 27 years old, you are also welcome to participate in the BFD27+ voluntary service.


The placement sites:

  • Daycare facilities
  • Activities in the pedagogical, nursing, and housekeeping areas
  • Support for groups in child care
  • Accompaniment of children and support with activities such as eating, brushing teeth, dressing and undressing
  • Youth club
  • Work in the youth café (counter area, sale of food and drinks)
  • Accompaniment of teenage visitors in leisure activities
  • Housekeeping tasks
