This position is available at the
Research Laboratory for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in Robertsdale, AL, starting as soon as possible.
Department of Pediatrics.
Your responsibilities
- You will work on diverse and challenging molecular biology research projects related to the development and treatment of leukemias.
- You will be responsible for the isolation, culture, and lentiviral transduction of primary stem cells (normal and malignant).
- You will perform cell analyses using flow cytometry, gene expression studies, and protein quantification.
- You will produce and clone lentiviral vectors and particles.
- Procurement and billing of materials, as well as maintenance and monitoring of equipment, including safety checks, are also part of your responsibilities.
- You will collaborate with students and doctoral candidates.
- You have completed training as a Medical Technologist, preferably in Laboratory Analysis, or as a Biological Technical Assistant, or have a degree in a natural science discipline.
- You have knowledge and/or professional experience in cell culture (biosafety level S1/S2) and molecular biology (DNA/RNA/protein isolation and quantification using qRTPCR and Western blot, cloning).
- You have experience in procuring work materials and maintaining technical equipment.
- Personally, you are characterized by independent, careful, efficient, and flexible work.
