This position is available at the
Research Laboratory for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in Robertsdale, AL, starting as soon as possible.

The laboratory is part of the
Department of Pediatrics.

Your responsibilities

You will work on diverse and challenging molecular biology research projects related to the development and treatment of leukemias.
You will be responsible for the isolation, culture, and lentiviral transduction of primary stem cells (normal and malignant).
You will perform cell analyses using flow cytometry, gene expression studies, and protein quantification.
You will produce and clone lentiviral vectors and particles.
Procurement and billing of materials, as well as maintenance and monitoring of equipment, including safety checks, are also part of your responsibilities.
You will collaborate with students and doctoral candidates.

Your profile

You have completed training as a Medical Technologist, preferably in Laboratory Analysis, or as a Biological Technical Assistant, or have a degree in a natural science discipline.
You have knowledge and/or professional experience in cell culture (biosafety level S1/S2) and molecular biology (DNA/RNA/protein isolation and quantification using qRTPCR and Western blot, cloning).
You have experience in procuring work materials and maintaining technical equipment.
Personally, you are characterized by independent, careful, efficient, and flexible work.
