These services include everything from day care to boarding, training to grooming, and home care to veterinary care.

We are looking to add a Dog Trainer to our team at _Loyal Canines Academy_

CORE RESPONSIBILITES (include but are not limited to):
Create a training plan for the dog.

Teach commands to the dog and pet parent.

Be patient with a stubborn dog.

Teach pet parents about dog behavior.

Understand a pet parent's needs.

Work with the pet parent to teach them about their dog.

Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior.

Listen to pet parent concerns.

Performs add-on services as needed.

Follows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.


REQUIREMENTS:


Expertise & Experience:
Must be a pet fanatic - pets are part of our family

Two years of professional dog training experience required.

Training certification preferred.

Knowledge of various dog commands.

Knowledge of different dog breeds.

Strong understanding of dog behavior (i.e. aggression, anxiety, fear reactivity, etc.) and proficient in the use of training aids such as e-collars and prong collars.

Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate dog owners about training techniques and philosophies.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ability to identify pet behavioral issues.

Ability to create a plan of action for pet parents.

CGC Evaluator, AKC Evaluator.


Physical:
Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Must frequently lift 40 pounds.

Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.

Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.

Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.

Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes

Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.


REPORTS TO:
General Manager


PAY:
$18-20 /hour DOE + (10% commission and $1000 sign-on bonus after 90 days)
