Description

The Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz Institute for High Frequency Technology (FBH) is an applied research institution in the fields of high frequency electronics, photonics, and quantum physics.

The FBH conducts research on electronic and optical components, modules, and systems based on compound semiconductors. These are key building blocks for innovations in the societal areas of communication, energy, health, and mobility. The institute covers the entire value chain from design to ready-to-deliver systems.

For our research department on III-V electronics, we are looking for a scientific employee.

Reference number 08/23

Your tasks

In our research group "Digital PA Lab", we combine our activities in high frequency circuit design for digital power amplifiers with the requirements of novel VHF DC/DC converters for applications such as 48 V point-of-load.

Based on FBH's own GaN process, you will design and implement highly efficient and compact 100 V / 100 W converter circuits for 200 MHz.

The core of these modules will be integrated circuits optimized by you.

In addition, you will work closely with the "Wide-Bandgap Electronics Department" of FBH to develop improved transistors for efficient switching in the relevant application.

Furthermore, you will optimize and characterize the demonstrators in terms of minimized power losses. For your research, you will have access to a setup and measurement laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art instruments.
