Position Summary:


Jefferson County's Highway Department works diligently to keep our roads safe by upgrading, repairing, and maintaining 390 lane-miles of State Highways (100 lane-miles are located on Interstate Highway 94), 521 lane-miles of County Trunk Highways, and various Town Highways as requested.

These responsibilities include reconstructing and resurfacing county and town highways, installing signs, and supporting other county departments in completion of special projects when needed.


WHAT YOU WILL DO The department is recruiting for Summer Laborers to help with the busy construction season from May through August.

Summer Laborers play a vital role in the safety of other workers and the public by directing traffic safely through road construction sites and performing some general labor work.


Salary Information:

We pay $15.00/ hour.

This position is 40 hours/ week:
Monday thru Thursday 6am-4pm. Occasional overtime, Fridays will be needed.

Qualifications:


  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to stand 810 consecutive hours.
