. The analyst will assist with and help coordinate the daily operations of Dr. Eisenberg's research projects. Dr. Eisenberg is a health economist focusing on projects related to how federal, state, and local policies impact healthcare decision-making, with a special focus on those with mental health and substance use disorders. Current projects focus on the impact of telemedicine policies on engagement with substance use treatment, the impact of housing support policies on mental health and substance use care, and mergers and acquisitions in the behavioral health space.
This position is ideal for a candidate with a recent bachelor's degree who is looking for full-time research experience before joining a PhD program.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The Programmer will support health economics, health services, and policy-related research projects conducted by Dr. Eisenberg and other investigators at CMAP.
The Programmer will use SAS, R, and/or Stata programming skills to create analytical datasets from surveys, healthcare claims, electronic health records, and other data sources.
The Programmer will implement non-routine macros and advanced techniques to combine data from different sources and databases as well as use advanced statistical methods to analyze data.
The analyst will also be expected to have strong writing skills to draft manuscripts based on the analyses.Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills are needed to support multiple projects led by individual investigators.
Support the development of grant applications and prepare presentations.
Participate in team meetings and, as needed, take minutes of meetings for distribution to the team.
Assist in literature reviews as needed and in preparing and revising manuscripts for publication.
Assist with IRB renewals and applications and other projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
One-year related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred QualificationsClaims data experience.
Prior work experience in an academic or research setting in healthcare.
An understanding of economics and econometrics is strongly encouraged.
