Activity Leader

School-age Child Care afterschool and summer

Rate of pay:
$16/hour


We have an opening for an Activity Leader at our Hartford Park clubhouse, located at 50 Laurel Hill Avenue in Providence.

Activity Leaders carry out fun, age-appropriate activities for ages 5-12 in sports & games, homework help, arts & crafts, outdoor play, recreation, and more.

Hours during the school year are Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 6:30 PM. Additional hours may be available in the summer when program hours expand. Must be available through August 23.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Age 18 or older (required)
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Minimum of one year equivalent of college credits earned (preferred).
  • At least one year of youthrelated work experience in a group setting (required), in an urban, diverse setting (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading activities for schoolage children (required).
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate positively with youth of ages 51
  • Ability to follow child safety and behavior management policies and procedures of organization.
  • Ability to successfully pass all background checks, including but not limited to: national, state, and local background checks (fingerprintbased); state Child Abuse Registry clearances; continuous criminal records monitoring during course of employment; education and employment verifications; reference checks; preemployment drug screen (for illegal drugs).
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (can be earned during employment if not current).
