Description
The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

We are currently seeking candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a locomotive shunter (railway employee in the operations department, specializing in train driving and transportation) (m/f/d) for DB Cargo AG at our location in Rostock. The vocational school is located in Güstrow.
What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • Assembling and driving various types of freight trains, as well as shunting them
  • Your task is to ensure that our freight trains depart safely, punctually, and reliably
  • You will learn the rules for safe railway operations and become familiar with your vehicle inside and out
  • You will start and end your workday at your regional shunting yard
Your profile:
  • You have (or will soon have) successfully completed school and are ideally at least 17 years old at the start of your apprenticeship
  • You enjoy working outdoors in the fresh air
  • You remain calm and keep an overview even in challenging situations
  • You are willing to take on responsibility and make decisions
  • You are reliable and able to handle stress
