The Hamburg State Opera GmbH is seeking to fill the position of Stage Technician (m/f/d) with a focus on stage work in the Stage Department as soon as possible.

The Hamburg State Opera is one of the leading opera houses in Europe. Each season, the program includes six operas and two ballet premieres on the main stage, as well as numerous revivals from the extensive repertoire, which includes works from almost 350 years of music history. Showcasing modern music theater, combining old works with new perspectives, and maintaining the classics of the repertoire are important programmatic priorities, alongside a strong passion for the new.

Key responsibilities:

The main task is to ensure the technical safety of rehearsals and performances, while adhering to all safety standards and laws.
Setup and dismantling, as well as support for rehearsals and performances.
Transporting sets and other rehearsal and performancerelated items.
Creating or repairing set pieces at all rehearsal and performance venues of the Hamburg State Opera.

Requirements:

A completed vocational training in a technical or craft profession (e.g. carpenter, locksmith, decorator) is required.
Several years of professional experience as a stage technician in a comparable opera, theater, or event operation is advantageous.
Willingness to work flexible hours (daily rotation, 2shift operation including weekends/holidays) is a requirement for the theater operation allowance.
