Position Summary:

This position conducts research by assisting with the collection, entry and cleaning of data and descriptive results.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the principal investigator, research team members, and the community agencies to develop research plans and intervention protocols
  • Perform data collection activities for the project; coordinate and perform pre and postdata analysis; conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis; analyze and evaluate research results.
  • Write advanced, comprehensive reports; assist in writing manuscripts, grant proposals, and abstracts to share research findings; contribute content, prepare results, and assist in the writeup of research findings for publication (papers, presentations, grants, etc.)
  • Contribute to design and implementation of the research participant interviews, focus groups, and assessment and data collection protocol including data tracking system and data management.
  • Help formulate and conduct projectrelated interventions and assessments
  • Maintain detailed records of results and prepare online annual performance report for HRSA
  • Prepare materials for IRB, presentation and publications pertaining to our research findings and best practices.
  • Assist the Director in the development and implementation of the curriculum for the advanced graduate level didactic course in the fall and spring semesters
  • Manage the course content on UIC Blackboard
  • Communicate with community agencies and coordinate participant recruitment, intervention implementation, and followup activities.
  • Supervise, support, and mentor grant participants and research assistants
  • Coordinate the annual student orientation, end of the year open house, faculty meetings, and annual faculty retreat
  • Support day to day functioning of the Illinois LEND grant
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.
  • A minimum of one year related research experience.
  • Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong writing skills, highly organized, and a high level of computer proficiency needed.
  • Experience working with and supporting people with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with MCH training programs.
