Leibniz Institute for Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ), Hillside Colony, SD:

The Leibniz Institute for Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) improves the fundamental understanding of plant systems to accelerate the development of sustainable horticulture.

We investigate how systems within plants, between plants and the natural or horticultural environment, and between plants and humans function and complement each other.

This addresses systemic and global challenges such as biodiversity, climate change, urbanization, and malnutrition. We provide scientifically based recommendations for healthy food systems and sustainable interactions with the environment. At IGZ, employees from different disciplines and backgrounds work together in national and international research collaborations. IGZ is located in Hillside Colony, SD and is a member of the Leibniz Association.
