Job Summary:


The Junior Controller supports the financial and accounting operations of the company by assisting with financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

This role ensures accurate financial data, compliance with internal controls, and aids in decision-making processes by providing timely financial insights.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:


  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data and create reports to support management decisions.
  • Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between budgeted and actual figures.

Budgeting and Forecasting:


  • Support the annual budgeting process.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and projections.
  • Monitor budget performance and report on any significant deviations.

Accounting Operations:


  • Help maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Assist in monthend and yearend closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial documentation.

Internal Controls and Compliance:


  • Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement:


  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to their implementation.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.

Special Projects:


  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Senior Controller or Financial Controller.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for adhoc requests and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience: 8-10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications.

Experience: Experience in financial planning and analysis or public accounting.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis tools.

Pay:
Up to $125,001.32 per year
