Position Summary:
The Training Specialist reports directly to the Training and Development Manager and is responsible for developing, enacting, and leading employee training programs within a variety of departments.
In this role, the training coordinator assists with determining current and future employee training needs, assesses and improves training materials, and directly leads training sessions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assess training needs for new and existing employees by identifying internal and external training programs to address competency gaps
- Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs, requirements and goals
- Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs
- Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks
- Communicate training options and provide feedback to program participants and management
- Map out training plans for individual employees
- Present training programs using recognized training techniques and tools
- Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, onthejob coaching
- Track and report on training outcomes
- Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology
- Maintain employee training records
- Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment
- Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers
- Coordinate offsite training activities for employees
- Keep current on training design and methodology
Required Qualifications:
- 23 years' experience with instruction and training
- Knowledge of adult instructional and learning theory and principles
- Knowledge of instructional design
- Knowledge of training methodologies
- Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS)
- Knowledge of competency assessment
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Certification such as ASTD (American Society for Training and Development)

Physical:
- Sitting, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously.
- Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, calculating, concentration, & interpersonal abilities continuously.
- Eye/hand coordination, fingering (typing), handling, & wrist motion continuously.
- Bending, reaching, stretching, standing, & walking occasionally.
Environmental:
- Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, & noise occasionally.
- Exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, & wet conditions occasionally.
- Works inside only. Position considered office only.

Pay:
$65, $90,000.00 per year
