Brief Summary of Job Duties

Required Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be sensitive regarding confidential information and exercise good judgment regarding such information.
  • Must be professional, serviceoriented, and be able to work with a variety of customers in a fastpaced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting or supporting laboratory research.
  • Experience with data collection.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Occasional evening hours are required.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:75% BIC Administration and Oversight - Coordinates with internal UCSB labs and PI's, as well as external non-UCSB research organizations including all Center scheduling. Provides guidance in completion of BIC paperwork and supplementary materials. Ensures appropriate recharge accounts are provided for BIC billing. Generates invoices and charges accounts provided using UCSB recharge/financial journal system. Submits completed recharge/financial journals to the PBS Business Officer on a monthly basis for processing recharges. Maintains basic record keeping systems and files for the BIC. Prepares monthly financial statement for BIC Director. Assists in preparation of reports and coordinates conferences and administrative meetings. Monitors and updates content of the BIC website including updating annual recharge rates. Orders research-related supplies as needed.
