THE POSITION:


Bring your corrections and management knowledge to the State Correctional Institution (SCI) Chester By coordinating and directing the staff, you will ensure that the security and treatment programs within the housing units are running smoothly every day.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


As a Corrections Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of unit programs for your assigned institution.

You and the leadership are developing and revising unit mission statements, operational goals, objectives, and procedures. Unit managers also supervise a multi-disciplinary staff and implement the overall unit program.

By providing training, performance appraisals, and professional development for all personnel assigned to the unit, including corrections officers, you ensure the smooth operation of SCI Chester.

You will be managing unit resources and providing input on budget development.

This position is also responsible for monitoring and ensuring overall unit security and being accessible and responsive to the concerns of both staff and inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with a 30minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 5

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Three years of professional experience in a correctional institution/facility in correctional security, treatment, quasijudicial hearings or counseling;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of professional experience in a correctional institution/facility in correctional security, treatment, quasi-judicial hearings or counseling.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
