The German Center for Accessible Reading (dzb lesen) is a library and production center for accessible media products located in Brockton, MA.

This includes Braille and audio books, magazines, large print books, reliefs, sheet music, and digital media.

Under the umbrella of dzb lesen, there is a publishing house, a recording studio, a printing press, a bookbinding workshop, and an order management department.


dzb lesen is a state-owned enterprise of the Free State of Saxony and is part of the Saxon Ministry of Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK).


dzb lesen is currently seeking a System Librarian (m/f/d) to join our team as soon as possible (full-time, 40 hours/week, part-time possible upon agreement).


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Professional and personnel management of the library department
  • Library and technical support of the inhouse library system: defining functional and technical specifications of the system and its applications (including app, online catalog, Alexa skill), overseeing programming through close coordination with the database development team in IT
  • Data testing and error analysis in the library system
  • Metadata management, organization of data transfers and migrations
  • Data queries and research in various systems
  • Library support in overall operational strategy, planning, and analysis of existing workflows.

We expect you to have:

  • A successfully completed university degree in Library Science or Information Science, or in the field of Computer Science with additional knowledge in Library Science,
