The scope of duties includes, among others:

  • Support in managing a well-equipped metallography laboratory
  • Preparation work for light and scanning electron microscopy, as well as hardness measurements, etc.
  • Evaluation of microstructures on a wide range of materials (e.g. aluminum, steel, plastic)
  • Scanning electron microscopy analysis (EDX, WDX, EBSD)
  • Support and advice in implementing research projects
  • Ordering and management of daily laboratory consumables, organization of maintenance for analysis equipment
  • Instruction and assistance for student assistants in preparation and evaluation
  • Creating and continuously updating operating instructions and hazardous substance instructions

Required qualifications:


  • Completed training as a metallographer, chemicaltechnical assistant, chemical laboratory technician, materials tester, or a comparable qualification
  • Knowledge of scanning electron microscopy would be a great advantage
  • Very good knowledge of German
  • Independent work style and ability to work in a team
  • Reliability, flexibility, and resilience
  • Proficient in using computers
  • Good knowledge of English

Remarks:


The temporary position is to be filled for at least part-time (20 hours) and can be extended to a full-time position (40 hours).

The position is initially limited to 1 year with the possibility of an extension.
