Description

We are looking for you for the 3-year training as a locomotive shunter (m/f/d) for DB Cargo AG at the locations Hamburg, Itzehoe and Lübeck for the practical part of the training. The vocational school is located in Hamburg-Nettelnburg and the training center is in Maschen.

What to expect in your training:

  • You assemble freight trains by coupling and uncoupling individual freight wagons
  • Shunting the freight wagons onto the corresponding direction tracks
  • Checking the functionality of the freight trains and securing the loads are also part of your tasks
  • You will learn the rules for safe railway operations and become familiar with your shunting locomotive
  • You will drive a locomotive to nearby customers, such as different companies, and pick up the goods to be transported
  • You start and end your workday at your regional shunting yard
