JOB SUMMARY:


The Global Continuous Improvement (MDI) Manager is responsible for mentoring and coaching continuous improvement processes; performing loss analysis; designing, leading and facilitating our Manufacturing Operating System (MDI) deployment globally.

Responsibilities include collaborating on the design, rollout and execution of MDI (McCain Driving Impact) and other related initiatives to create highly effective and efficient sustainable operations where employees are enabled and engaged in improving the business.

The MDI Manager will be responsible for developing capability in others; for leading strategic ad hoc projects; for contributing to meet the financial and cultural objectives of the business.


JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Facilitate development of Daily Management Systems with cross-functional global leaders and their regional teams.
  • Support global deployment of MDI (McCain's Manufacturing Operating System).
  • Partner with Regional Manufacturing Leadership Teams to deliver cost savings through manufacturing process improvement.
  • Coach continuous improvement skills & mindset; build organizational capability

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE SPECIFICATIONS:


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field such as Maintenance Management
  • Lean certification and Project Management Professional designation a bonus

Key Skills / Attributes:


  • A proven track record of continuous improvement and results orientation achieved through the development and growth of others.
  • Must excel at thought leadership, problem solving and the ability to work with and influence others (leadership, leading through influence and change management).
  • Must have ability to build positive relationships at all organizational levels and be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to deal with and develop a plan in an ambiguous environment is key. Experience in training and facilitating.

Experience:


  • At least ten (10) years of leadership / management experience within Continuous Improvement and Plant Operations is preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of experience leading, implementing and coaching at least two of the following:
a) Autonomous Manufacturing
b) Focus Improvement (Problem Solving)
c) Early Management (Vertical Start Up)
d) Daily Management Systems (HPWS)
e) Skills Development / Work Simplification
f) Lean Thinking or Six Sigma


Knowledge:

a) Knowledge of CI / Lean / TPM tools
b) Knowledge of principals and methods for process improvement
c) Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources


Skills:

a) Strong project management skills
b) Excellent time management, organization, and workload load balance skills
c) Problem solving and forward thinking mindset.
d) Sound business acumen with corresponding analytical and judgement skills.


Abilities:

a) Strong customer focus with the ability to foster effective cross-functional partnerships.
b) Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, and influencing skills
c) Bilingual skills an asset
d) The ability to communicate information and ideas speaking so others will understand.


Travel: 35% -50%
