  • PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum in the classroom and to provide quality care for the children.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • 1. Demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development through assisting in the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the recommended standards to ensure health, safety, and nutrition.
  • 2. Assist in creating a learning environment based on children's needs, interests, and abilities and one that is reflective of the children's families and culture.
  • 3. Partner with families and use effective communication and assist in making smooth transitions from home to the classroom and demonstrate professional practices in all aspects of work.
  • 4. Use various techniques to observe children and record observations to share with coteachers and teachers.
  • 5. Complete professional plan annually with supervisor and maintain credentialing required by Keystone Stars, NAEYC, and DPW.

Job Qualifications:


  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
  • CDA preferred or working towards and/or Associate's/Bachelors Degree in ECE
  • Experience:
2 years working with young chidlren (can include babysitting or other childcare facilities) required.
