ABOUT THE ROLE
The Digital Media Supervisor will be reporting to the VP of Digital Operations. This role will supervise all technical and operational workflows for Fox Sports digital streaming service.

This includes enforcing SOP, defining, and refining SOPs, operating live events and monitor the health of the production systems via sophisticated monitoring solutions, be a central point of communication, participate in incidents and triaging, and escalating to other teams if needed to support the Fox Sports digital streaming service.

In addition, the Digital Media Supervisor will manage team schedule, be the go-to-person to report the status of the production environment and manage all incidents to resolution.


A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES- Managing team shift rotation schedule to always support sufficient coverage across all shifts- Enforcing team guidelines, process, and policy- Take the role of Lead Incident Manager during issues.

This includes communicating to stake holders, assembling the correct resources to mitigate the issue, updating the incidents, and driving the incident to resolution- Create weekly incident reports- Maintain Performance Statistics Reporting- Lead weekly meetings with QA to discuss production issues.- Training and onboarding new hires, ensuring proper access to all essential tools and documentations- Continual creating and updating of SOP and other documentations- Become an expert in the monitoring tools used by the Digital Media Operations- Constant monitoring of the backend systems, network, API services, client apps, and the live video streams- Investigate all alerts generated by the monitoring solutions.

- Identify all issues in production- Support live events and day-to-day offerings by preparing documentation to guide event readiness and participate in the day of operational coverage- Execute production changes to Digital systems, infrastructure, products, and platforms in support of event and release activities- Act as a point of contact for incident escalation for the Tier 1 Operations team and triage and mitigate as needed


WHAT YOU WILL NEED- Hands-on experience in a production/operational role- Experience with the operation and management of cloud-based services, including operational processes, such as incident management life cycle and event management approaches- Familiarity of technology such as cloud services and media streaming- Basic network components and how they interoperate, as well as Internet protocols and configurations- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions and keep a cool head while under pressure- Credibility with partner-stakeholders (business, engineering, product/program etc.) for a strong team and results-oriented delivery- Excellent oral and written communication skills - demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences including those at the senior leadership levels- Schedule flexibility is key to support the operational needs of the business; this role may operate on an adjusted schedule including weekends, overnights, early mornings, etc.


NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical degree is awesome, but not required- Equivalent work experience is ideal.

- Experience/knowledge of the Broadcast and Media Streaming industry- Understanding of Internet delivery-based content delivery at scale, in particular, CDN management and end-user QoS/QoE monitoring- Familiarity with video technologies such as video encoding/packaging and video/audio quality analysis
