POSITION OBJECTIVE:


Incumbents are responsible for performing routine school nutrition activities such as processing documents related to Federal meal programs, food production, menus, and procurement.

Incumbents prepare routine reports, perform routine nutritional calculations and data review. Acts as contact person for routine menu planning and procurement questions and inquiries.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and processes a variety of forms, data, and/or information, which may include: deposit slips and/or corrections, recipes, allegern and ingredient lists, product specifications, inventory forms, invoices, and other related files and/or records. Maintains related files and/or records.
  • Performs routine office activities, which may include: making copies; filing; sorting, opening, and distributing mail; entering information into a database; faxing documents; and, performing other related activities.
  • Assists customers and employees with requests for information over the phone and in person; researches and resolves discrepancies and/or erroneous data.
  • Prepares a variety of routine reports with information obtained from databases and/or spreadsheets.
  • Monitors, adjusts, and maintains recipe, ingredient and menu database in assigned area of responsibility. Performs nutrient analysis.
  • Researches discrepancies of nutritional information and/or documentation for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, or G.E.D., completion of additional nutrition based coursework; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Prior basic school nutrition experience is preferred. Prior experience utilizing nutrient analysis software a plus.

  • Grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Light Work:

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
