Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Budget Branch, the incumbent is responsible for the technical development, monitoring, and administration of the Department's budget.


This position reports to the Staff Services Manager II in the Budget Office and is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the Department's appropriations.

This includes many challenging assignments such as complex revenue and expenditure analysis, reviewing and responding to sensitive requests from control agencies and executive officers, and development, review, and maintenance of the Department's technical fund conditions.

This position will also assist with the development of the Department's annual budget, providing support and analysis on highly technical questions related to the development, monitoring, reporting, and administration of the Department's budget.

This position is headquartered in Downtown Sacramento but is eligible for telework.

This position reports to the office at least 2 days a week for critical work assignments, trainings, and team building activities.

Working Conditions

Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Attend meetings and hearings, work with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.


This position may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
