- Salary range: $73, $84, The NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.
- The Legal Affairs Division serves as the inhouse legal department for DOF, providing professional and comprehensive legal advice and services supporting a full range of city tax and other revenuerelated matters. Legal Affairs Division attorneys and staff handle various legal issues, including real property taxes and exemptions, business income and excise taxes, collections, parking violations, treasury, land registry, Conciliation Bureau conferences, FOIL, and employment law.
- Reporting the General Counsel, the Department Advocate's Office handles all aspects of discipline cases from confidential investigations and employee conferences to determining appropriate charges and case resolutions including representing DOF in administrative legal actions.
- With the goal of enabling DOF's employees to successfully meet their employment requirements to succeed, the Department Advocate is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detailoriented individual to serve as a Case Coordinator for the Department Advocate's Office.
- Serve as the case coordinator and assistant to the Department Advocate and Deputy Department Advocate.
- Manage the administration of case assignments in the unit as directed by the Department Advocate.
- Provide a full range of administrative support for the Department Advocate's Office, including handling intake functions, case tracking, case and file management and scheduling.
- Maintain confidentiality of all disciplinary records and information.
- Maintain Advocate's Office tracking systems (AMICUS). Develop and prepare reports.
- Prepare and maintain disciplinary case file records/logs.
- Manage records for the unit including archiving closed disciplinary records in a timely manner.
- Assist in preparation of data, exhibits and other documentary evidence for disciplinary related issues.
- Develop, prepare and maintain case disposition and other yearend tracking reports, yearend statistics and productivity reports as needed.
- Participate in special projects for the unit as required by unit management.
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above;
