Duties

:


  • You will serve as a Medical Plans and Operations Officer in the Medical Directorate (N01H) of the Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (CNSL) in Norfolk, VA.
  • You will review the critical military medical capabilities required to support the operational Surface Force, analyze policy, and monitor compliance and effectiveness of military operational medical support.
  • You will plan, direct, coordinate, monitor, and execute the operations and administrative functions of the command.
  • You will process data to develop displays and standard/adhoc reports to support internal CNSL operations.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Government issued passport.

Qualifications

:


  • Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:


  • Experience conducting medical planning procedures, medical operations in the afloat environment and available sources of medical intelligence in order to assist the Chief Medical Officer (e.g., Force Surgeon), in developing, monitoring and executing medical policies as to providing expert input into policies at governing & legislative, (e.g., Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), United States Fleet Forces (USFF)/United States Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT) and Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV)), levels.

Experience utilizing medical supply processes including Authorized Medical/Dental Allowance Lists (AMALs and ADALs and Shipboard Equipment Replacement Program (SERP) and understanding medical provider Privileging and Credentialing.

Experience defining and developing medical requirements and processes in order to resource them.

  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
