    Default job background
    Description

    Overview:

The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA)* is recruiting a Donor Experience Officer (DXO) to join the Annual Giving team. As a Donor Experience Officer with WFAA, you will use momentous giving days, video storytelling, and digital marketing to help annual donors and leadership annual giving (LAG) donors transform the student experience and elevate the work of faculty within the colleges and schools. We are looking for talented innovators to help align how we engage donors with their passions through video, phone, social media, and digital connections.

As energetic, passionate, and digital-first fundraisers, the DXO will leverage modern marketing tools to express gratitude and ask for philanthropic support. This position will support philanthropic priorities for the Chancellors Annual Fund. This position is a hybrid role and will require you to work in the office at least two days weekly.

Targeted salary range for this position is $57,000-$70,000, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.

    Who is WFAA?
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association is a private, nonprofit corporation that encourages individuals and organizations to make gifts to the university and to connect with the UW. In 2014, the UW Foundation merged with the Wisconsin Alumni Association to better serve a growing population of UW alumni and donors. We believe that private support grows out of good relationships between campus leaders, faculty and program staff who need support, and the alumni and friends who want to invest in UWMadison. We provide important engagement opportunities to link UWMadison alumni to each other and to their alma mater, building a strong community of Badgers.

    Diversity and Inclusion:

Just as the university community benefits from differing viewpoints, perspectives, and experiences, inclusion and diversity are imperative for the success of our mission. WFAA values people and the differences that they bring to the organization, and creates an environment in which all staff members and constituents feel respected and have opportunities to thrive.

    Essential Functions:

    Donor Retention

    • Cultivate relationships with LAG donors through email, phone, virtual meetings, and video.
    • Leverage tools of the WFAA marketing division to renew and increase annual donor support at the $250-$999 and $1,000-$24,999 levels.
    • Deepen UWs partnership with donors and qualify them for other kinds of support.

    Donor Success Development

    • Communicate stories about the impact of annual philanthropic support with current and potential donors and other stakeholders.
    • Serve as a point of contact for advancing relationships between the priority area(s) and LAG donors.
    • Collaborate with development staff to identify and elevate donors through the pipeline.

    Content Curation

    • Collaborate closely with priority area colleagues to identify and deliver content related to the impact of philanthropy through video, social media, and digital platforms.
    • Collaborate with digital and annual giving teams to tailor modern marketing tactics for LAG donors.
    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:

    • 2+ years experience in annual giving, marketing, donor relations, sales, stewardship, or a related area.

    Other Qualifications:

    • A creative mind for strategic marketing to individuals and masses.
    • Enthusiasm to ask for philanthropic support for priority areas.
    • Curiosity for discovering passions that motivate people.
    • Ability to inspire and share stories of impact verbally.
    • Emotional intelligence when engaging with donors.
    • Willingness to learn and build.
    • Openness to developing proficiency in Excel and data management.
    • Interest in analyzing data to determine strategy; strong attention to detail.
    • Video creation or digital marketing experience.
    • Previous experience in development, sales, customer service, marketing, or related field preferred.

WFAA is committed to providing our employees with an environment that is inspiring, creative and respectful. We offer competitive pay and an excellent benefits program, which includes a 10% 401k contribution after 1 year of service
