We manufacture, process and pack fencing supply orders for customers and distribution facilities all over the US, ensuring accurate and successful delivery.

The Utility Associate position is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment at our facility. Working as a part of a team, you will be assigned areas of the facility to maintain.

Your responsibilities will include cleaning of assigned facility and office areas, common areas, and restrooms in administrative building and plant/warehouse.

In this role, a high level of customer service will be necessary since you will be working directly with other Merchants Metals associates each day.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Help manager tooling inventory.
  • Catalog existing tooling and assemble job kits.
  • Organize tooling and fixturing as required for scheduled jobs.
  • Take a proactive approach to manager workload by reviewing work orders and working with supervisors and machinists to have tools ready in advance.
  • Work with supervisor on purchasing and ordering of tooling and shop consumables and manage the tool room inventory with a focus on continuous improvement and controlling costs.
  • Maintains tool functionality receive, inspect, and catalog incoming tools and equipment.
  • Tag and/or repair damaged tools or send out for repair if possible and cost effective.
  • Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
  • Great attendance and attitude.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Computer and data entry skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Physically able to continuously stand and walk; requires constant movement.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. in a nonclimatecontrolled environment.
  • Physically able to push, pull, bend, climb, lift, squat, stoop, and stretch to reach frequently.
