Duties:


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
  • Monitoring and evaluates FPLS system development, security, management, and operation by ensuring that new or modified program/management policies, regulations, goals, objectives and/or processes are met by the system development and operational teams.
  • Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
  • Coordinating and speaking at national and regional workshops, seminars, and other meetings to disseminate information about the development, implementation and operations of computer information systems that support program requirements and the goals of the OCSS and ACF.

  • Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

AND

Minimum Qualifications:

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience must include three (3) of the following:


  • Overseeing complex system development activities/processes, and ensuring that program goals, and objectives are met.
  • Developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
  • Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
  • Overseeing network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies.
  • Managing operations of an organization's data center, software release management, and configuration management.
