    Are you in? PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
    This position is in BGE's Distribution Automation and Technology unit, part of Smart Grid and Innovation group, and will play key role in leading driving key organizational initiatives


    The successful candidate will:
    1.

    Work closely with Manager of Distribution Automation &Technology and other Engineering and Standards Business Managers in mapping the strategy and identifying the use cases for the Smart Grid Metering, Distribution Automation, Engineer Design and Standards, and Distribution Planning and Reliability 2.

    Partner tightly with the Principal Quant Engineer to develop performance analysis tools and proactive and predictive models 3.

    Provide Leadership and oversite to the performance, maintenance, analysis of the DA system and the Coordination & Implementation DA Devices 4.

    Will not only be technically/domain proficient but also needs to understand and be part of the business development and support activities 5.

    Actively challenge current popular values opinions and business processes to substantially benefit the customer experience and execute organizational strategies 6.

    Evaluates complex technical issues that require highly specialized knowledge in very specific areas and recommends actions or programs for their resolution which may necessitate the review/evaluation of engineering design documents.

    Leads the work activities of project teams and others on the implementation of large specialized technical projects and/or programs to develop studies, proposals, commissioning plans to support safely energizing and placing major utility and customer systems and equipment On System.

    Develops and/or leads teams of employees or contractors in studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, integrated systems analysis, associated with the testing, commissioning, planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, telecommunication, P&C communication, facilities/systems.

    Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers as a result of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, or facilities.

    Acts as recognized technical authority in a specialized engineering area which may involve witnessing of Factory Acceptance Tests. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES * Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive quantitative analysis, research and engineering expertise.

    * Leads and performs tasks associated with critical or analytical engineering projects, develop and maintain quantitative analytical models and methodologies to identify trends and predict outcomes, provide explanations of the modeling and its results to management and senior leaders.

    * Evaluates, develops, implements and leads strategic and engineering projects that have significant financial and operational impact by applying quantitative analysis.

    * Participates in department planning, provide budget recommendations and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results. * Performs assignments while acting independently and may lead multi-discipline teams. * Serves as an expert in the quantitative engineering area. * Acts as an expert witness or provide expert opinions as required. * Provides recommendations and implements action plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness. * Provides training and/or guidance to others.

    * Participates in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in areas of company interest.

    • Support/Lead employees and or contractors in the execution of plans developed to initially energize utility or customer equipment/systems and placed On System.
    • Set direction for the organization in regards to technical issues.
    • Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction Qualifications
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline with at least 7 years of professional engineering experience See Note)

    • Completed Assignments and Projects showing evidence of:
    • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
    • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
    • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
    • Advanced knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles (2).
    • Advanced knowledge of latest technologies necessary to perform a variety of specialized unique or complex assignments for various installation types of services.
    * *Note: there are a limited number of personnel available in the industry with the required knowledge, ability and experience. (1) Master's degree in Engineering reduces the OJT experience requirement by 1 year. (2) License must be issued by the state in which you are practicing. (3) PE License reduces the OJT experience requirement by 1 year.

    • Note: Items (1) and (3) are mutually inclusive, whereby the maximum experience requirement reduction is one (1) year (e.g., in the case of an employee with both a master's degree in Engineering AND a PE license, the minimum experience requirement would be reduced by one (1) year. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Demonstrated industry leadership & publication record (in quantitative/engineering discipline)
    • Demonstrated experience in complex multi-year research and analysis efforts
    • Demonstrated experience to expand R&D background to practical solutions (in quantitative/engineering discipline)
    • Professional Engineer's License, advanced technical degree, MBA or Project Management Certification
    • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels Benefits
    • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $104,800-$157,200
