Fortis Industries is interviewing for a Grounds Maintenance Worker on our contract in the San Diego, CA area.


Key responsibilities associated with this position include but may not be limited to.

  • Cuts lawn using hand, power, or riding mower; trims and edges around walks, flower beds, walls, etc.
  • Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs; prunes shrubs and various trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools.
  • Sprays lawns, trees and shrubs with fertilizers and insecticides.
  • May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in ground maintenance.
  • May perform routine laboring and maintenance duties when ground keeping work has been completed.
  • Drives vehicles required to perform or travel to grounds maintenance work, including vans, or industrial trucks.

Work Environment:


  • Employees will be required to work outdoors, working during seasonal heat and cold or other adverse weather conditions. Employees may be required to work where they may be regularly exposed to fumes, dust, and odors.
  • Some high noise levels from operations of equipment rooms/areas
  • Must be physically able to complete necessary tasks as related to grounds maintenance work and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in Grounds Maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment and landscaping
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must pass both a detailed background check and a preemployment drug screening prior to hire.

Rate of Pay
$ 17.95 per hour base pay
PLUS Health and Welfare of $4.57 per hour
