Description

The
Office of Professionalism and Ethics (OPE) serves as a centralized clearinghouse for complaints and the subsequent tracking of those complaints across the University's UPC and HSC campuses, as well as all University programs and affiliates.

The office facilitates the University's central case management platform, provides oversight of certain investigations, and spearheads its own direct investigations at the direction of the Vice President of OPE or University senior leadership.


OPE is a significant stakeholder in the University's auditing and training functions regarding University misconduct policies and the Department of Education's Clery Act and Title IX compliance.

OPE routinely partners and supports offices across the University, including the Office of General Counsel; Office of Athletic Compliance; Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity & Title IX; Office of Culture, Ethics and Compliance; Human Resources; Threat Assessment; and Department of Public Safety; to name a few.

The
Intake Coordinator will work within a cohesive, supportive team in a highly collaborative environment.


Job Accountabilities:

Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurately and professionally screens, organizes, and prioritizes inquiries and complaints through OPE's reporting portals, ensuring routing to the appropriate University offices.
  • Coordinates and leads the office's initial assessment of complaints with a specific eye toward potential Title IX allegations and reports that implicate Clery Act under federal law, and mandated reporting obligations per state law.
  • Maintains the University's central case management system and other tracking logs, ensuring confidentiality and security of all relevant records and complaints.
  • Assists with OPE's qualityassurance, training and auditing role for the reporting of misconduct by stakeholders and use of the University's central complaint tracking system.
  • Trains and leads supporting staff, as appropriate.
  • At least three years of experience working with issues relating to workplace complaints and/or investigations.
  • Experience with data, spreadsheets and/or database tracking systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, preparation of PowerPoint presentations, and demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • An awareness of appropriate discretion and a record of leadership and collaborative efforts with diverse groups of stakeholders.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's

Degree Minimum Experience: 3 Years Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience working with issues such as domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault and harassment.

Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local regulations and laws (e.g. Titles VII and IX), as well as ethical practices and policies (HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, etc.). Demonstrated communication skills and cultural awareness, and a record of leadership and collaborative efforts with diverse groups and stakeholders.
