The incumbent will report directly to the Director of Clinical Research and indirectly to the Data Management and Statistics Core Lead and the leadership of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) and is responsible for oversight and management of the ADRC's data management team.

Responsibilities include oversight of the ADRC database including data from the center's various research projects and collaborators, managing the data entry and maintenance of various projects and sources including REDCap, SharePoint files, and external data capture systems and creating connections to other sources (such as REDCap or study-specific databases) to ensure all relevant data are captured within the ADRC database.


Additionally, this role will be responsible for management of internal servers and databases, network management, quality control of data, and maintenance of software and hardware.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing new processes and workflows to optimize the ADRC data management systems. The role will be responsible for oversight of the various teams reporting to leadership, sponsors, and internal stakeholders.


In addition, this position will be responsible for supervision of data core staff responsible for data entry, database creation and maintenance, and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • For full consideration applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.
  • CITI Certification for Biomedical Researchers and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) within 3 months of hire.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 35 years of experience working with clinical research data management systems collecting and processing scientific, biomedical, and social sciences data.
  • 35 years of experience with SQL writing queries and programming clinical research databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with creation and distribution of data reports for stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Tableau.
  • Experience with Linux (RedHat or Ubuntu), and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience with JSON for graphic user interface (GUI) and workflows.
  • Experience with all aspects of database creation and management from the back end through the front end.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Lists, SharePoint tools)

Department Description


The Department of Neurology conducts basic and clinical research on the nervous system and provides clinical care for people with neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia, epilepsy, movement disorders like Parkinson's and Huntington's Disease, tremor, dystonia, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular conditions, headache, and sleep disorders.


Our faculty includes leading neuroscientists, who work to expand our knowledge of nervous system function, as well as neurologists and psychologists who provide diagnosis and treatment for adults and children.

We partner with colleagues from throughout the health system and work closely with the Department of Neurological Surgery to provide multidisciplinary team management for neurological disorders.

We also offer cutting-edge diagnostic approaches, including advanced neuroimaging technologies and access to trials of new medications and other therapeutic modalities.
