    Market Risk Manager – Commodities – Vice President

    Firm Risk Management (FRM) collaborates with Morgan Stanley to achieve efficient risk-adjusted returns, acts as a strategic advisor to the Board, and safeguards the Firm from various risks.

    The role is within FRM's Market Risk Department, responsible for identifying, analyzing, reporting, and escalating market risk exposures in EMEA.

    The successful candidate will cover the commodities business, including North America Power and Gas, EU Power and Gas, Emissions, Oil and Oil Products, Metals, and Agricultural Products.

    Job Overview:

    • Assess market risks, concentrations, and top risks
    • Challenge traders, trading management, and strategists with appropriate escalation of risks
    • Approve complex transactions and perform deal analysis
    • Own the regional limit framework
    • Communicate key risks and escalate emerging risks
    • Develop risk methodologies, stress scenarios, and tools
    • Contribute to assessing pricing, risk, and capital models

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Degree in a quantitative subject
    • Minimum 6 years of industry experience, with 4 years in commodities markets
    • Familiarity with VaR calculations and scenario analysis
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Confidence to challenge others and work independently
    • Effective communication and organizational skills
    • Interest in a fast-paced environment
