Summary
Landscape or maintain grounds of Casino property using hand or power tools or equipment.
Grounds Keeper will perform a variety of tasks, which may include:
mowing, trimming, and planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of grounds keeping machines and tools.
- Mows lawns, using power mower.
- Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
- Digs holes for plants, inserts plants, and fills holes with dirt.
- Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
- Rakes and bags leave's.
- Cleans grounds and removes trash and debris.
- Seeds and fertilizes lawn.
- Maintains outside irrigation.
- Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Waters lawn and shrubs.
- Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
- Decorates garden with stones and plants.
- Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
- Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Qualifications
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
- Must be able to work outside climate environment.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be certifiable by the Cocopah Tribal Gaming Office.
- Preemployment and ongoing random drug testing.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, a combination of education or experience may be considered.
- 1 year prior experience in landscaping.
