Summary
Temple View Capital (TVC) is a dynamic and innovative private money lending institution specializing in residential real estate investments.

We provide financing solutions for renovation and new construction projects on residential 1-4 unit properties, enabling investors to achieve their real estate goals.

We are seeking an excellent communicator who is detail oriented for our Construction Project Underwriter role. You will play a pivotal role in evaluating construction project proposals and monitoring project progress.

You will be responsible for underwriting project proposals, determining project feasibility, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that each investment aligns with our lending criteria and risk tolerance.

Post close you will review all construction funds requests, ensure work is completed as outlined in the project scope, and work with customers to resolve any issues occurring during construction.


Responsibilities / Essential Job Duties

Budget review: Analyze and maintain project budgets, cost estimates, and financial projections, ensuring funds are appropriately allocated for the required work

Collaboration: Collaborate with customers, loan officers, project managers, and other teams to gather necessary information and documentation

Due Diligence: Review property inspections, appraisals, architectural and engineering plans to make informed decisions.

Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and lending standards throughout the underwriting process.

Decision Making: Make decisions based on thorough analysis, balancing risk and opportunity to support the company's lending objectives.

System Maintenance:Update appropriate systems with required information to conduct operations and enable accurate reporting.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • 5+ years' experience within the residential construction industry or a fouryear degree in a residential construction related field and 1+ years' professional experience.
  • Ability to review project plans, understand technical terms, and determine project scope and key components.
  • Ability to make sound underwriting decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using underwriting software, financial analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal teams and clients.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and lending standards in the residential construction industry.

About the Company

Benefits

  • Salary: $55,000 $70,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location
