Your team

  • You will be a part of the New Banknotes Section in the Banknotes Directorate. The Directorate has a team of 70 employees who are responsible for coordinating and monitoring banknote activities within the Eurosystem and with external parties. These activities include designing, developing, producing, issuing, distributing, and protecting euro banknotes. The Directorate's current focus is on ensuring that cash is accessible and accepted, and developing innovative and secure euro banknotes while reducing their environmental impact throughout the entire cash cycle.


As a Senior Research and Development Expert, you will be a part of the team responsible for developing and updating the product requirements for future banknotes.

This involves maintaining close communication with stakeholders and identifying new technologies that can support the development of secure and user-friendly banknotes.

The team also coordinates and manages various research and development projects in collaboration with stakeholders and National Central Banks.
