We are currently seeking a Scientific Researcher (m/f/d) to join our team at Ephrata as part of the joint project "enableATO - Automated Rail Transport as a Backbone for Sustainable, Connected Mobility in Rural Areas", funded by the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport.

This position is available immediately and can be filled on a part-time basis.

As part of this position, there is the opportunity to pursue a (cooperative) doctorate under the supervision of the business psychology team at the Department of Economics.

Our goal is to contribute to a highly automated, digitized, and sustainable mobility system by rethinking interfaces with other modes of transportation through the use of rail mobility.

The project "enableATO - Automated Rail Transport as a Basis for Sustainable, Connected Mobility in Rural Areas" focuses on developing technologies for automated driving, interior vehicle monitoring, intelligent maintenance, and demonstrating these technologies on a driving dynamics simulator.

In addition, we will evaluate the acceptance of users and incorporate their feedback into the development process.

The "enableATO" project is part of the RailCampus OWL, one of four locations of the DZM (German Center for Future Mobility).

At RailCampus OWL, we research and demonstrate various new mobility approaches that aim to reactivate unused rail infrastructure and use it sustainably for individualized rail mobility.

These approaches require automation.
