The Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG) is a self-governing organization of science funded by the federal government and states. It currently operates 84 institutes and research facilities in Germany and abroad, conducting fundamental research in the fields of natural and social sciences. It is one of the world's leading research institutions, with numerous Nobel laureates among its ranks.

The General Administration of the MPG is seeking a Legal and Compliance Officer for its Department of Law and Compliance in the section "General Civil Law, IT Law and Data Protection Law, Press and Media Law" to start as soon as possible on a fixed-term basis for 39 hours per week.

The team "IT Law and Data Protection Law" within the section "General Civil Law, IT Law and Data Protection Law, Press and Media Law" is responsible for providing IT and data protection advice to the General Administration and institutes of the MPG. Specific areas of operational advice include handling individual performance disruptions, as well as drafting and reviewing procurement contracts, including those related to information technology (IT) services.
