To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Custom Specialist (m/f/d) at Buffalo Center, IA, starting as soon as possible.

Job Description:

  • Processing of all types of customs procedures and preparation of customs declarations using ATLAS and NCTS
  • Knowledge of current legal regulations in customs law and ensuring legally compliant customs processing in practice

Your tasks / responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations for import and export of goods
  • Continuous analysis of legal changes and initiation of necessary measures
  • Central point of contact for our customers, subsidiaries and suppliers, as well as internal departments, authorities and service providers for customsrelated questions
  • Assignment of customs tariff numbers and maintenance of the database, issuance of LLE, ELE and certificates of origin, as well as evaluation of materials according to the Dual-Use Regulation
  • Accompanying customs and foreign trade audits and monitoring of existing authorizations
  • Further development and implementation of optimized customs and foreign trade processes
  • Adaptation and review of process documentation and work instructions

Your profile:

  • Completed training in the field of warehouse/logistics or comparable commercial training desired; certificate as a certified customs specialist
  • Several years of professional experience in the commercial sector, warehouse/logistics, customs procedures desired
  • Experience in handling and operating forklifts is an advantage
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of Chinese is desirable
