Job Summary:


The Division of Child Care (DCC) is responsible for the development, oversight, and implementation of the Child Care and Development Fund State Plan, and additional federal child care relief investments which require states to ensure equitable access to high quality child care, focused on child development and well-being.

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and managing the Child Care Program.


This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise staff, evaluate performance, arrange for necessary training and direct all personnel activities in the area of assignment.
  • Assess needs of the Region to include service delivery, staff performance, and identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate service delivery with other state, tribal and county public agencies, community based agencies, advocacy groups and the general public.
  • Coordinate administrative and client service delivery and develop district process improvement initiatives through multiple District Management Teams and District Quality Councils.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of statewide policies, plans and prioritization as a member of the DCC Management Team.
This position requires extensive statewide travel.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Federal and state laws related to the Child Care Development Fund and contracting.
  • Effective delivery of program services.
  • Available community resources and principles and practices of leadership and management.

Skill in:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication.
  • Personnel Management.
  • Development, interpretation and presentation of statistical reports and recommended actions.

Ability to:

  • Develop and maintain interpersonal relationships with contracted providers, personnel from other state agencies, community based organizations and advocacy programs.
  • Assimilate and analyze large amounts of complex information from a variety of sources.

Selective Preference(s):

  • 25 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in social services; Lean process improvement.
