Materials Control Supervisor

Outstanding manufacturer of customized, rugged computing solutions seeks Materials Control Supervisor to be responsible for managing the daily operations of a warehouse which may include, but are not limited to, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and preparation of kits and work orders for manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities include the following.


Other duties may be assigned:

  • Supervises personnel, which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance
evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.

  • Provides products to customers in an efficient and timely manner; arranges for packaging,
transportation, and/or delivery of goods.

  • Maintains space, equipment, and supplies; manages inventory, transfers, and product rotation.
  • Prepares and maintains work order kits, Kanban bins, and other inventory distribution methods
deemed appropriate to support production demand and consistence production flow.

  • Works with other departments in planning and preparing forecasted and actual demand.
  • Develops and implements improved methods of materials handling, stock control, and packaging
to promote efficiency, services, and reduced costs.

  • Conducts periodic or special inventory audits and reconciles physical counts. This includes cycle
counts and physical inventory counts as prescribed by company policy.

  • Prepares bid requests for a variety of services and/or supplies, monitors contracts on an ongoing
basis for compliance.

  • Develops recordkeeping procedures and manages appropriate department records in
accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards.

  • As appropriate to the position, participates in the development of operating goals and objectives
for the unit; recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance
operations.

  • Performs miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 to 5 years' experience directly related to the duties and
responsibilities specified.

  • Current state issued driver's license, class C.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Skill in examining and reengineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and
developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windowsbased operating environment. MS
  • Knowledge of warehousing methodology.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work
assignments.

  • Knowledge of inventory management practices.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short
- and long-range goals.

  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.

Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour
