General Summary


This position is primarily responsible for performing and leading internal audits of the company's construction projects and other operational entities to evaluate efficiencies, assess the effectiveness of operational internal controls and determine compliance with operational policies and procedures.

Essential Job Accountabilities


Plan and lead audits or advisory/consultative reviews of the company's construction projects, plants, and other operational entities to determine the effectiveness of risk management practices and project controls.

In conjunction with Internal Audit Leadership, conduct planning sessions with team members and business management to better understand processes, risks, and controls to properly establish the scope and objectives of each audit review.

Utilizing construction industry experience, provide training and coaching to Internal Audit Staff to build and enhance their construction and project controls knowledge and competencies.

Conduct and lead meetings with management to communicate audit scope, assess current operational processes, and deliver applicable feedback and results.

Create oral and written presentations to management to present and discuss deficiencies and recommended corrective actions.

Ensure effective and timely communications of audit results and reports, and follow-up to confirm previously identified risks are properly mitigated.

Build strong rapport with all levels of management to create effective working relationships to further promote advisory/consultative opportunities to reduce businesses risks.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or other similar degree is required.

Work Experience

Minimum of 3 years' experience in the construction industry, project controls, or other similar field operations.
Audit experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough understanding of construction risks and project control activities
Thorough knowledge of Federal, State and legal laws and regulations that affect our business.

Knowledge of the company's systems, policies, and directives regarding other functions, levels, and organizations and their relationship with governmental and contractual requirements.

Ability to interface and build strong relationships with all levels of personnel.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional time management, project management, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, mentor and direct the work of others.
Goal-oriented, always driving towards the task at hand and desired outcome.
Strong attention to detail.
A highly analytical mind, coupled with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Additional Requirements/Skills

Moderate travel required, approximately 20-25% during the year.

Base Salary Range:

$120, $180,755.00
