SECTOR:

This program provides occupational training, workforce preparation, and support services, along with job development, placement and follow-up for adults (18+) impacted by the justice system and offers housing as a supportive service.

Current COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment in this program.


The Housing Re-Entry Specialist is responsible for the job searching and placements of Housing Program participants, as well as support in the day-to-day operation of the physical House.

In addition, this position establishes and maintains working relationships with other housing service organizations, employers, community colleges, vocational training programs, WorkSource Centers, YouthSource Centers, industry organizations, unions, and other organizations to source job openings and secure employment opportunities for our participants.

This position also provides individual and group support for participants looking for jobs and/or helping them with re-employment. The re-entry specialist will also work with participants to help them secure post-secondary education placement.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Possesses at least entrylevel knowledge of the role and duties of the position; understands the department's roles and is able to meet the expectations of the position for work schedule, punctuality, attendance, time management, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Operates as a reliable, flexible team player who works well with mínimal supervision; has a good work ethic; is able to work effectively with team members demonstrating creativity, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to accept accountability and critical feedback.   • Possesses the technical and software skills to perform the duties of the position (including Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office).

  • Demonstrates cultural competence/cultural humility in community relations and service delivery.
  • Is sensitive to community, cultural and personal dignity of program participants and is able to successfully engage, assess, and plan services for participants typical of the program's target population. Recognizes appropriate boundaries and limitations on interactions with program participants and their families and the need to maintain professional standards and practices. Is familiar with standard approaches to accurate participant record keeping, including timely charting, notation formats, content limitations, and confidentiality practices.
  • Possesses knowledge of programs, regulations, and procedures regarding human services, social services, justice, and workforce development.
  • Possesses knowledge of workforce development approaches, resources, best practices, and tools
  • Possesses knowledge of highgrowth industries, and contacts with employers.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours for oncall support, crisis response, after business hours and on weekend work when necessary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Attends and participates in all mandatory meetings.
  • Fosters positive relationships with community members and partner organizations.
  • Participate in cultural and communitybuilding activities/events.
  • Works to incorporate into organizational culture best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, restorative justice, and traumainformed care.
  • Performs outreach and marketing duties to recruit participants and educate the community on ACE Services.
  • Carries out intake and eligibility determinations and makes appropriate referrals when the applicant is not eligible for ACE services; conducts participant assessments leading to enrollment; completes and updates participant service plans.
  • Arrange and participate in participants' family meetings, service meetings, team meetings, etc., and coordinate wraparound services with other providers; provide transportation of participants to meet program goals.
  • Organizes, coordinates, prepares and delivers skillsbased workshops for participants.
  • Enters data into participant databases; assists in the writing of periodic program reports.
  • Assists and works closely with the SECTOR Team in developing and maintaining employer and information resources.
  • Responsible for coordinating monthly legal services partner workshops for the community.
  • Must conduct outreach and recruitment strategies to gauge targeted populations which can include but are not limited to (Transitional housing, Probation/Parole, Resource Fairs, and other reentrybased organizations.
