for the City Drainage Company, Wastewater Treatment Plant Department


With over 500 employees, the City Drainage Company Düsseldorf (SEBD) is responsible for the disposal and treatment of wastewater in the Düsseldorf area.

In particular, the SEBD operates two large-scale wastewater treatment plants, which must be continuously adapted to changing environmental requirements.


Your tasks:

As a staff member of the department management, you will be responsible for identifying, coordinating, and developing the medium and long-term investment needs for the construction and plant technology of the two large-scale wastewater treatment plants in Düsseldorf, including:

  • basic data collection, preliminary design, and initial cost estimation
- development of the wastewater disposal concept for wastewater treatment
- monitoring of project implementation
- serving as the interface between the operation of the treatment plants and the planning and construction department by defining scope, interfaces, and responsibilities within large investment projects
- accompanying the planning phases of major investment measures to ensure operational requirements and standardization within the SEBD
- initiating and accompanying possible process optimization measures in close coordination with the treatment plant management and supervisors
- participating in the establishment and implementation of a modern asset management system for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Department as a basis for future investment decisions.


Your profile:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering/Science in the fields of Urban Water Management, Environmental Engineering
